How often do you feed a young axolotl and when do you change how often you feed them? If someone could make a nice list that would be awesome!

"Very young larvae can be kept together without much risk of cannibalism since this really only begins once the front legs develop. When very young they should be fed frequently (once or twice daily). If kept at about 20 °C (68 °F) they should reach about 1.5 cm in length within a week. The larva pictured on the right is four days old and 14 mm in length. It is D/D M/m a/a (see the Genetics Page for more information about colour). If feeding brineshrimp, at least some of the water should be replaced each day because newly hatched brineshrimp die quickly in fresh water and can foul the water in a matter of hours. As mentioned above, Daphnia will live in the tank with the larvae until eaten, so occasional water changes are fine (partial water changes a few times a week)."

It depends what your keeping them in ect.
If theyre in tubs then they need daily 100% water changes and the tub wiping clean so its easier to have two tubs and transfer them across to a clean one with fresh dechlorinated water in.

If theyre in a cycled tank then weekly partial water changes of 20% should suffice.

It depends how old they are as to what you feed them ect.
Newly hatched lottles need baby brine shrimp, youll have to rinse them before feeding though.
Axies at around 2 weeks old or 1"+ can be moved onto bloodworm, daphnia or microworm, preferably live.
Then at around 3" they will be okay on bloodworm alone up until around 5" where they can be moved onto small earthworms :D
Then from 5" plus as they grow, you buy bigger earthworms!

Little axie need feeding daily until around 5/6" then after that, the aim is to keep their tummy as wide as their head, so if they are looking a little thin one day, feed them, if they are looking plump leave them for 2 or 3 days.

Perfect thank you!!!!

How often would you recommend feeding my little one? She is about 2-3 inches. I haven't been able to get an exact length on her yet :)

She doesnt look very plump, id feed her either one big meal a day or two smaller ones, but she defiantly needs feeding daily, are you using frozen (defrosted) bloodworm cubes? Id feed her half of one and if she eats it all and her tummy isnt as wide as her head, id offer her the other half too :D

Thanks. I thought she looked a bit thin when I got her. I got some pellets from the previous owner but am picking up blood worm cubes today. With the bloodworm cubes, should I defrost it then pick out half or just cut it in half? I know with meat you shouldn't refreeze it, does the same apply to the bloodworm cubes?

Defrost a whole cube in a little tank water, feed her half and keep the rest in the fridge until the next feed.

My axies at that size were eating a cube each a day.
