Hi folks.

My situation is beginning to get dire. My 2-week old axie larvae have too quickly outgrown their microworms; I ordered a whole brine shrimp hatchery and eggs off ebay last week but it won't arrive until next week, and the babies are already trying to eat each other (and failing) and are dying (already picked out 8 in the past 12 hours). I've tried the cut-up bloodworms and swishing them around but it's not working very well and I haven't seen one axie try to eat them.

I can't find daphnia or BBS or BBS eggs anywhere near me (Toronto, Kitchener, or Waterloo). Can I feed triops (Triassic Triops) to the larvae? They're about 1.5-2cm long now, no legs growing yet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks very much for the suggestion - I had never heard of that!

There have been previous discussions of triops. Use the forum search to find old threads.

Every time I have used the search function it had turned up '0'. I'm sure there are other threads for everything I've needed to talk about, but I can't seem to find them :(.

Try it again. Use the link on the topmost (bright green) menu bar above. Be sure you are typing in the "Search forum" box, and not the "search blogs" box.

Thanks everyone for your help on this and other threads,

As of today, my last 5 larvae have passed :(. I've learned a lot and hopefully next year I'll have better luck, especially with the food. I resent having to rely on others' supply for food and that's what got me to this point, so I'm, hoping to have my own daphnia and BBS supply at hand for most of the year next year, ready for any other eggs that come up.

Keep the support going, this forum is awesome.
Elaine
