Helloo once again :p
I own four fire belleid enwts adn i feed them frozen blod worms in those cubes, i was absically wonderin how amny cubes i should give them upon feeding. Ive tried one but im certain that they didnt all get to eat, so im using two and it seems to all be eaten, i was just wondering if two is enough or not:wacko:
Thanks

Re: Fedding queries

As long as all the food gets eaten quickly and the newts are not getting fat it should be ok.
I know some blood worm cubes have fewer worms but 2 cubes seems to me like quite a lot of food for 4 newts. Higher temperature means a higher metabolic rate - what temperature is their tank?

I personally feed 4 Japanese fire-bellies 1 cube every 2 - 3 days and it seems ok.
Do you feed your newts anything else or just the blood worms? Do they get earthworms as well?
And which fire bellies species are they?

PS: Please check your spelling before you post...it's a bit hard to read

Re: Fedding queries

what kind of fire bellies are these? My Japanese fire bellies can easily put away 2 cubes in one sitting, but they are huge and very greedy.

Here's two indicators that you are feeding the right amount:

- after a couple hours, they have eaten all of it with no leftovers
- all newts get some; check that everybody has a full belly
