Feeding help !

Okay so i have had my new axolotl for about a week now and i feed togepi small pieces of worms and i noticed he will chew it up sometimes and then spit it out a few times before swallowing it . I am unsure if im cutting the pieces maybe too big although i don't think so because he is 7 and a half inches but i also think maybe he is just still getting used to his new home ! any advice would be lovely !

That feeding reaction is completely normal and nothing to worry about, all of my axolotls will go through those motions exactly when eating. The worm bits you are feeding them sound like they are sized appropriately, I let my 5 inch axolotls eat full earthworms, it takes them a minute but they suck them down eventually with no problem at all.

Hahahahaha, every time Stelly does that I'm like, "Ah! Don't you dare!" Because he has sometimes spit out something he doesn't like. But, he does that spit and chew all the time. It's like he's Gumming his food to death.
