Feast or Famin

Hi team.

I have been looking after my Axies for some time now in eager anticipation of a spawning. The girls have been gaining A LOT of weight and everyone is healthy . In particular I have been "grooming" six Golds as I have been looking for them for about 18 years now . I ended up with 4 females and 2 males.

Anyway to cut a long story short - I HAVE FERTILISED EGGS . Six days ago the wildtypes spawned and one day after that my Golds spawned :bowl:. I have not posted until now because I was not sure if the Golds were fertile but they are developing well, although I must admit it is weird having pure white eggs that develop ( I am accustomed to Leucistics / wildtypes that have pigment ).

Anyway, just wanted to share the good news . Nobody around here appreciates my excitement but I know you will LOL.

OMG - my axies have spawned again ! Looks like the moving around and water changes have set them off - problem: It is winter here and live food is not readily available . Hmmm, better get my thinking cap on LOL

If you don't have the means to raise them, then you shouldn't feel obligated to raise them. Leave the eggs in with the parents, and they'll dispose of them. Then, if any larvae make it, you know they're a fighter!

Thanks kaysie but no need to worry. I have raised batches of 600+ in the past and am a bit of an old hand at this, been doing it on and off for about 22 years now ( gee I feel old all of a sudden LOL ). I have very good sources of both Moina and Mysis Shrimp close to home so I will go check out what is about - mysis are generally still about this time of year, albiet in smallish numbers

I will limit the numbers though
