Alright so this is my current setup. It's 5 gallons, a little on the small side for two I think, but I do plan to update to a 10 so I can have more room. I have corner platform for them along with some floating plants. I've never seem them up on the platform though. Is that odd? Oh and that plastic rolled up on top is my makeshift screen. Don't worry it only covers the part above the platform and has tons of holes in it. Overall my guys seem pretty happy. I'm open to any comments or suggestions :)

Your substrate looks pretty deep. How do you clean it? It's not unusual for firebellies to be almost entirely aquatic. But you're going to want to get a tight fitting lid, as these guys are notorious escape artists.

I'm in the process of acquiring a new lid. I work at a pet store so I'm just waiting for some to come it. When it comes to cleaning I've just been removing the newts, putting them in a temporary tank and then removing all the gravel and rinsing it in a strainer. I'm toying of the idea of taking some out and going down the road of a gravel vac.
