Days after mixing my two Neurergus Kaiseri, one has escaped. One group has been living in this tank for 6months without escaping, but one of the other group has managed it in a couple of days. Im utterly devastated... Ive looked everywhere, I've even literally ripped up laminate flooring and floorboards to check under the floor, cant find it anywhere and it could have been missing for up to 24hours :-(

Try putting some "traps" around. Cups or hides with moist moss in them in corners and along walls. Coconut huts etc. make good places for him to go. Place some damp hiding spots around. They desiccate pretty fast but their is still hope.

Good luck

That sucks :S
I hope you find it hiding somewhere humid and ok. In the future avoid this by making 100% sure there is no possible scape. You can never subestimate these creatures and think, nah, this will be ok, they won´t climb out...the buggers are GOOD at it!

I cant think of anywhere else to look. I feel like such a d**khead for not making absolutely sure the tank was escape proof, every time I change something, I seem to lose a newt... without sounding too melodramatic I am really beginning to doubt my abilities to keep amphibians...

It happened to me once and I found it, don't give up.... Are you 100% sure it escaped???
Use a powerful flashlight during your search, sometimes it helps... I hope you will find it.
