I have been meaning to post our summer newt miracle....
My new husband I were sitting on the couch the morning after our wedding basking in the success of our wedding. I noticed that one of our cats was interested in something by the tanks. I mentioned that the cat was playing with an escaped cricket. About 20 minutes went by, and I looked over and saw a brown lump on the carpet next to the cat. I realized it was our NEWT! She had escaped and was covered in cat hair. I carefully cleaned her off, and cooled her tank down. Amazingly, she was fine!
I was never very concerned because I knew that Paddletails were completely aquatic. Apparently not mine!
It has been a few months and she is just fine. I just wanted to let you all know, in case anyone else has an escape artist. I have blocked off the little crack near the filter since the incident.
