Email vs Profile

Hi John (or anyone else who may know),

I've noticed all the posts still request you to enter your email address. You don't need to to post a message, but it's there none the less.

I've also noticed that when you click on someone's name at the side it brings you to their profile (instead of a mailto anchor like it used to be).

Why do we enter our email at every post when our email is posted in our profile, and the email entered (as far as I can tell) isn't being shown on the post?

I posted the first one without my email entered, this one with..to see if there is a difference side by side.

You don't have to enter your email - it's only there for people who haven't registered for an account in case they wish to be contacted. The link to your profile is an option I chose over the email link. If you want to send someone a message you can do so from their profile - there's a link at the bottom of everyone's.

I find the link to the profile is a lot more convenient than the email link. I used to get really annoyed before when I would click on someone's name and hope to see their profile, but have my Outlook open instead.

Updates look good, imo.
