Hey, I'm at home for the weekend, so thought I'd get the camera out for some new pics of bigger Elsa and her slightly different tank

This tank doesn't look so 'southwestern', but still looks very awesome. Elsa's a lovely lady.

H</font></font>ayley - thats an awesome looking set up that you have, you've made me rethink mine lol
Very nice looking girl, she looks very happy.
LOVE THE SHELLS!!!!}}

Thanks Rob and Jo-Leen.

Its a 3ft tank by 12 inches.

Elsa is 28cm long now - she can only grow 2cm more!

I got the broken urn from PetsAtHome, about £10 I think.

I changed the tank from a 'western theme' after seeing Jon Burn's tank - over X-mas were gonna do a background similiar to his

Thanks for the comments

btw, this is how the tank used to look.

I had to take the rock castle thingy out because she grew too big for it and I didn't want her getting stuck.

The only thing that has really changed is that I have added more plants because I had to take out the rock castle, but its changed the look of the tank hugely.

Hayley, it looks very nice

I love the plants, she looks like she is in a forest.

Hi guys,

Bad news I'm afraid

Elsa died yesterday.

She hadn't ate anything in almost two months, I really did try everything.

All parameters in the tank were fine, she had a good variety of food and had no physical clues as to why she wasn't eating.

I put her in the fridge towards the end, but nothing helped.

I'm glad I took so many photos, it's such a horrible feeling losing a pet, but at least I have them.

Hope everyone is well, haven't been on here for ages.

Hayley x

i am so sorry to read that elsa died, how very sad. she was such a beautiful girl, i really liked looking at pictures of her when you posted them, my heart goes out to you and im sure you did everything you could for her. please keep posting and let us know if you decide to fill your lovely tank again.

Thanks for you lovely words Denise.

I'm at university 100 miles from home, its been stressful for my Mom to look after Elsa, even before she stopped eating. I don't think it would be fair to get another one, so I'll wait until I've graduated next year.

It's just so sad. It's worse not knowing why she stopped eating, to look at her there was nothing physically wrong.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
