Very cute! the leucistic looks so tiny :) how big is he/she? They look very cute hiding together.

Hi Belinda

Elsa is 22cm (she's just had a growth spurt - either that or I measured her very wrong last time! lol) and Elmo is 10cm.

What does leucistic mean?

Hi Hayley,Congrates on your new edition. Elmo is the cutest! and elsa's colour is beautiful! you take some great photos. how old is elmo?

Hi Hayley - thanks
happy.gif

I have no idea how old Elmo is actually - can anyone guess?

How old you you reckon Elsa is too?

I was told she was 1 year old when I brought her and I've had her coming up to 2 years now. Does she look like a 3 year old?

All Elsa's red veins have gone, noticed today - she must be better

All this time I thought Elmo and Baby (<~~ my old axie who died) were albinos.

I've never seen a white albino then....

My profile piccy is my white albino lulu, u can tell she's albino by her eyes. hope that helps

I was worried about the size difference at first, but because Elsa is so placid
angel.gif
and doesn't snap or anything I risked putting them together.

As you can see from the last pic, they sit right next to each other all the time (scary at first!
errr.gif
thought they might eat each other).

Elmo actually follows Elsa around the tank, he likes to be sitting in at least a 10cm radius of where she is

Hayley - duh what am I like?! I've looked at your pic loads of times!

you cant really tell how old an axie is im afraid. because they all grow to different sizes at different rates

Ahhh...glad to see that Elsa is better. Elmo reminds me of my axolotls when they were young.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
