Say what you think;) Cump

Yes it is:happy:
I'am rigth now feeding them...but I forggot the "filter factor":( and because of the ondulation, the larvaes (bloodworms) went to the rocks...but I think thats no proble.....therocks are bigg enough:p

Cump

PS: I'am pretending to get 2 more females the next week and also, starting a culture of earthworms.

Watch that acrylic plastic lid. It's bending and there's a gap probably big enough for a newt to climb through. Place something heavy on each side and flip it regularly to prevent it curling up.

Thanks for the warning;) I forgotted to mention that, I placed there some big rocks:D

Ei men! it is really cool, love the elodeas pointing to the sides!
So when can I ship you the starters of earthworms?;)
Adeusinho!

Nice looking animals you have there Limede. One thing I noticed is that it looks like there's a submersible heater next to the filter. Is that correct?

I think it is just a thermostat....

I agree with Mark here. In it's current form, that cover is an escape disaster waiting to happen.

Weighting the corners with something is good for the short term, but you will need to do more for long term. My suggestion is to frame the acrylic. A properly sized cheap picture frame works well. If you are particularly handy, a trip to the local DIY store will net you plastic, aluminum, or wooden materials you can frame it with. Just ask in the "windows" department and they can help you pick what is best for you.

I cannot tell by the picture, but it may be a good idea to place some screening or mesh over the central void in the cover also, if it is not already there.

eljorgo: xD thanks:happy: now I need to finished the 96 liters fish aquarium, to concentrate in anything else, soon you will send them;)

Hardwarehank and jbherpin: Yep, it is a thermostat, but now that's Summer it is currently off (the temperature is 25Cº:eek: but I think it is on the limit....)

SludgeMunkey: Thanks for the suggestion:happy: for now, in the corners, I put there some rocks...and in the central void maybe I will put some net

Thanks;)

And why would you need a thermostat in there Ô_o???
25ºC is too high...try to cool the tank down.
I´m not a big fan of the big river rocks you used...they trap a lot of debrish and food...
The filter looks huge...i don´t know if it´s just the picture...but remember this species is a still water creature that does not like strong currents. I would recomend keeping them without a filter, specially if the temps are 25ºC, because the filter creates heat, and the newts really prefer it calm and still...

Hi,
the thermostast is for the Winter where temperatures of the water can reach 10Cº...

That little "only glass" space, is for feeding...and the big rocks is if any food goes there they don't swalow (???) any rock, becauseis too big.

Yep, the filter is a little big, but the filter exit is pointing to one of the corners, and the ondulation isn't too much...(the elodeas barely (???) move)

I will put some icy bottles there, to down the temperature.

Thanks;)

Nothing else to say?
