Eliminating left-hand frame

If anybody is working with a small computer screen and wants to get rid of the left-hand frame, here's one way to do it:

Click "properties", highlight the page address and then paste it into the address box at the top of the screen. From this point on, the frame is gone, even if you click on other pages. This may be obvious to some, but I only recently discovered it. There's probably an easier way to do it...
