If there are any users that use the Eheim range, specifically the professional range I could do with some advice.
As some of you will know I kind of need things put as straight forward as possible to me, my user manual for the eheim 2224 tells me how to open up the filter etc but not when, I have tried to search for some info through google but cant come up with what I need, Is there a set time table as to when I should be cleaning the pipes, cleaning the media and replacing the sponges? I understand one part of the media an be cleaned several times before changing and one part needs replacing after one or two 'cleans' same with the sponges.
The filter has been running for 4 months now so I wonder if maintenance is due but do not want to take everything apart unduly as I also run a chiller so cleaning will be a bit of a pain, I also worry if I perform the wrong maintenance I may cause a cycle crash.
By the way I do understand not to clean the media with tap water I just have no experience at all with running a canister so any advice is greatly appreciated.
