Hey guys. Would you guys go with an Eheim 2213 for 2 Axolotls in a 35 gallon tank. I want my tank to be crystal clean and not have to do big changes regularly. My only concern is that the flow might be to much for the axo's or would it be fine. It comes with a spray bar so I'm just wondering if you guys would recommend it?
Thanks, Jumsyie101

It's rated right at that size tank. It would probably be fine with the spray bar pointed at the corner to deflect the flow.

Water changes are still necessary, even with a filter. A filter just gives you a little more 'wiggle room' because of the bacteria you grow. But there are still waste products that have to be eliminated through regular water changes.

Yes I know. I'm going to be doing 20% water changes weekly and I am going to purchase this filter. Thanks for the help!

I have this filter and it honestly doesn't keep the water 'crystal clear' but that doesn't necessarily mean that the water is dirty either ;) I found that you have to play around with the spray bar so that it hits the glass perfectly, otherwise it causes too much current. I inspect the media cartridge once a month and rinse the media in water if there is a build up of gunk. All-in-all I think it's well worth the money!

P.s. There are a few handy videos on youtube that show you step-by-step how to set it up and also how to clean it if you aren't already familiar with the process

I like going with an oversized and putting a valve on output. Make sure when u clean it that u dont rinse out all the media at once, just do a compartememt this time, then a different.compartement next time, and do it in dirty tank water :D
