I appear to have eggs of some form in my tank (see photo).
Problem is that I have no idea where they have come from, or how long they've been there!
I noticed them when I was watching Ax this morning.

I've had the plant that they're on for a week, so it's possible that they were on the plant when I got them.
I didn't see any snails in the tank at the shop I got it from, but there were some brown sucker/cleaning type fish in with the plants. Could they be from there?
Could they be from insects?

The only other place they could be from is Ax.
Which leaves me terribly confused as I've been 99% sure Ax is male.

Unless of course they aren't eggs (they look like eggs to me)
I'm just wondering what I should do.

About Ax:
I've had Ax for about a week and a half. He's about 20 cm long. He's fed on Earthworms from my compost bin, but was briefly fed frozen bloodworms. I've attached a photo of him (it's a bit blurry, sorry)

they are probably snail eggs. it's almost impossible not to get snails with plants when you buy them from a aquarist.

also, it looks like your axie is a boy!

Gah. I'll pull it out and check that I got all of them. I do not want snails.

As I said, I was pretty darn sure he was male.
Good to know that I'm right, so if I ever get him a friend I know what I'm getting into.
(Unless he's pulling a reverse Lance-alotl!)

keep the eggs in another container and let them hatch! And then we'll know for sure :D

and then if they are snails, take them back to the store. "I believe these are yours *angry face"

I think I've managed to get them all. I'll just keep an eye on that plant, and the next live one I get I'll remember to rinse/soak even if I don't see any.

LOL I'd do that but I feel it would be a waste if time and effort.
Plus I'm to polite to do so.

its interesting, they must get bigger and more notacable as they develop or i'd assume you see them when you put the plant in

They probably do get bigger.
I've had a particularly busy schedule since I got him, so I probably just didn't notice them!
I didn't check the plant very well because I didn't see any snails in the tank- I just didn't think about the possibility of the supplier having snails in their tank

Yea they look like snail eggs to me, I had them in my tank when I bought live plants, I didn't notice them, I noticed the tiny little snails everywhere first. There were HUNDREDS. I've never seen snails in with the plants at the fish shop either so it's weird xD
