one of the female red spotted newts had a peice of plant wrapped around her neck and was having trouble getting it off so i pulled it off for her and noticed a few eggs on it. is it ok if i put the eggs back in the pond where i got the parents? i've had the newts since wendsday.
and if i have to raise them is it hard?
if i raised them i dont think i would keep them, im running short on space real fast here. i would have to give them away becuase its illegal to sell them here
or if its not hard to ship eggs i could maybe give the eggs to someone? just not sure what to do with them

If it's the same pond where you got the parents from, sure,, return the eggs to the pond!

Some people have concerns about returning newts that have been kept in captivity to the wild because of the possible spread of pathogens, but I'd think there'd be less or even no concern about eggs. Returning newts to places other than where they were caught is another thing altogether though.

If you decide to raise them, there should be lots of tiny critters (daphnia, etc.) for them to eat, once they hatch, in water at the margins of the pond
