I have just acquired some eggs, they are roughly 24 days old and I was informed another clutch of eggs from the same pedants have just hatched.

I am keeping the eggs in a clean chineese container at room temperature, I would rather the eggs hatch sooner than later so would you suggest adding them to a separate tank just for them at about 20'c

24 days? Mine hatch from 12-20 days!
Just keep them at room temp, warming them up now could do more harm than good.

Are you ready with a BBS hatchery?

Sorry, meant 14 days. They do give a wriggle every so often but no actual movement. Still in their sacs. I decided to float their container in a warmer tank to see if that helps.

I have BBS but not an awful lot. I was hoping to move quickly on to feeding them small daphnia in a week or 2 as I can purchase bags of hundreds for only a few pounds, what do you think?

Thanks Jude

OK, 14 days is fine. But by putting them in warm water you risk 'cooking' the eggs - room temp is best.

You can move the babies on to daphnia, but you'll find the adult don't get eaten for a awhile - they are just too big. If you can get daphnia in bulk an separate the sizes that should be fine.

Hey Drew,

You got your eggs from me......your babies will do fine if you're just patient....my water was kept at room temperature and the babies hatched just fine but I still have some that are pretty well formed, wriggle lots but just aren't yet ready to come into the world.

If you try to force hatching you will probably end up killling them.

Looking forward to seeing your pics of some lively little hatchlings. All crossed for you.
