Eggs (is it ? )

Hi Guys

Can I borrow your expertise for a moment

Is this an egg ? It Looks like one.

What are the chances of it hatching ?

Any pointers as to what I should do with it, if it is a newt egg ?

I have taken it out the tank as the newts seem to be eating their own eggs (rubbish parenting)

Yes, it's a newt egg, congratulations! In a couple of days you should be able to see some obvious shape changes if it's fertile.

What to do with it... depends on what you want, and how much time and effort (and possibly money) you have to spend. Letting the adults eat them is certainly not a bad option. On the other hand, raising them can be rewarding. This may help you get started:
