Hi There :)
My axie Gizmo has had a bunch of eggs and I have about 20 of them in a separate container with no air filter at all and water from the tank.
Does this sound ok? Sorry I really cant find an answer here about air flow in the eggs "tank" so I wasn't sure.
Well she laid eggs everywhere in the tank, in her hiding hole and all under it which was in the sand.. and a lot of the ones I have kept are covered in sand. Is this bad for the hatchling?
If there is any kind of sand in the container will it hurt them when they hatch? Because I really cant get it off the egg.
Thankyou for your time. :)

Eggs don't require airation. Tank water is fine. The sand shouldn't be a problem because you want to do 100% water changes daily when the eggs do hatch, which should remove the sand quickly. I would advise getting a few extra tubs so water changes are easier and to separate the babies once they get a little older. Also try to prepare for feeding the little guys. I prefer baby brine shrimp. Be sure to hatch a batch or two ahead of time if you choose bbs so you know how long it takes them to hatch.

Ok that's excellent. Thankyou so much for your help. :D
I have everything set, yes I'm planning on doing the water changes every day. I'm just waiting for the BBS to arrive in the mail, the eggs I mean. And ive been reading so many of the threads here for the past week so I think it should go ok. I hope. ^__^
Thankyou again, I really appreciate it. ^^ And its a big relief to hear that the sand shouldn't be a problem. :) I started to really wonder after seeing so many pictures of clean eggs that I just had to post here and find out. Thankyou :D

*gasp* someone in australia with eggs!! If you don't want some I'd be happy to take some off your hands lol.

The sand shouldn't hurt them, they'll need lots of water changes once they've hatched anyway. Keep us all updated on them!!

lol, yes :D but sorry i dont have any eggs for you, but Ok Quentari ^__^ I will post some pics tomorrow :)
They must be close to hatching, i can see their little feathery gills, its really cute. ^^

Here are a couple of pics i took today of the little ones :) After feeding time ;)

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
