As predicted, Tinto is laying this morning. Whoops! Let me know if anyone fancies some eggs, I am on the Wirral, Merseyside, but I believe its possible to post.

Tintos mum and dad were a leucistic and a wild type - She is wild type thus I figure she must be heterozygous D/d.

She has mated with a leucistic (d/d)
Thus by my calculations I should have both leucistic and wild type eggs (half and half).
Does this sound correct and how can one tell from looking at the eggs? They seem to have both dark and white bits in them.

Ok after searching the forum I see that egg colour does not reflect axolotl colour.
But I would really like to know whether anyone else agrees with what I predict the eggs will turn out as from genetics, so that I can tell anyone who wants the eggs.

Only time will tell. The parents could be het. for other colors morphs . My albino male bred to my wildtype female ,produces white leucistics , black melanoids, and what i consider 2 phases of wildtype, some are extra light while others are dark.
The leucistics don't hatch out with white color, but are more of a transparent / silver color.
