Egg Laying

Hey guys!

Just a quick question, will newts, specifically, Cynops Orientals, lay eggs regardless if there is a male present like a chicken ? I just wasn't sure and couldn't find the answer online. I keep getting about 50 eggs every other week and none are fertile and it is frustrating not knowing what is going on..

Yes, they often lay infertile eggs if there are no males.
