Egg Laying Strips

Hey I want to make the Artificial Egg Laying Strips featured on the caduata website but I was wondering how long can you leave them in for? Would the plastic leech anything into the tank?

Good question. I think if you stick to clear polythene you should be fine, but even that may start to degrade from the UV light eventually. Mind you, there is some in my Alpine tank that's at least three years old!
