Hi Chantelle,

These could be Anchor worms, but cant really tell you much with out a picture. If you can get one it would help us out alot on treating your axie.

Could you tell us what you water quailty is i.e, temp, Ammonia etc.

Thanks

Kim

hi kim,

i cant get a pic (sorry) i just changed the water today temp is about 19 degree

Take a look at some threads in the other sections for Anchor worms, I personally have never had them but some people seem to not be able to get rid of them.

(use the search function of the website, they should come up)

I have heard of the being in axies gills, and coming out of the gravel when it is cleaned. Is your tank newly set up?

If im wrong tho, if someone can please correct me!

Try giving it a salt bath.

From the Health page on Axolotl.org (http://www.axolotl.org/health.htm)
"A salt bath is prepared using 2-3 teaspoons of salt (table salt, cooking salt, or iodized salt, but not "low" or "low-sodium" salt) per litre/two pints. Don't leave the Axolotl in the salt bath for more than 15 minutes each time, because the salt will start to damage the Axolotl's skin and particularly its gills. Of course, this is all useless if the animal is still under stress when put back in its aquarium (strong-flowing water, high water temperature, bad water quality, etc....)."
