So I rescued this eft from my fatherinlaw pool. So a I have it in a aquarium with smooth gravel bottom with some moss a water dish and some sticks to hide under. Is that right ? Second what is the best food to feed it? And where is the best place to find it ? I live in ky with no pet shops all we have is walmart. Its south central ky as a kid I had some newets as pets and feed them crickes but this one is too small for them.

When I kept them I fed them blackworms in a shallow bowl of water. Or you can try handfeeding, or leaving, pieces of cut up nightcrawlers for it. Only leave them for 12 hours tops or they'll start rotting and smell bad. You could also mist the tank once a day to keep it moist.

Kentucky has plenty of bait shops. Get Canadian nightcrawlers and chop them into some tiny pieces.

You could try to catch some very small bugs outdoors, but that will only work until winter.

Is there someplace nearby where you could release the eft into a decent habitat?
