Just wondering if anyone can answer my query, my axies breed and layed eggs on the 6th of march, all seem to be growing exceptional, however I noticed today a few of them have hatched already!!! , is this OK seems how they are only 9-10 days old? and will they survive OK?

I would appriciate any help/advice thanx.

What temperature are you keeping the water the eggs are in at? I kept mine at 62 and it took 17days to start hatching! But the higher the temp the faster the process. 9-10 days is not unusual and they all should be hatched in the next few days then i believe :) they are going to be fine unless they did really hatch prematurally but if they dont eat within the mext 72hours then ill be worried. If they eat them im sure theyll be fine! Im learning food is the best idicator of something wrong! Lmao

Start your brine shrimp/get your live food ready! Your going to be an axie mommy for a while! Congrats!

thanx for your fast reply the water they are in is 20 celcius, I'm goin to start off my bbs hatchery now, wasn't expecting them to start hatching yet so haven't started it or got any live food :-/ but that can be easily sorted, can't wait to watch them grow, not sure what color they'll be though.

I do hope they eat OK, would it make a difference if this is the first time my adult has layed eggs?? :D

They should be fine.
Some hatch like clock work, some hatch early, some hatch late.

If you have early hatchers they will not oftern eat in the 72hr period a normal hatch would. As they still have quite a bit of yolk to absorb.

You typically have 24-48hours to harvest your first bath of shrimp before the hatchling has consumed all its yolk so its plenty of time to get bbs started :) i found even the new hatchling would eat the bbs as soon as they hatched if it was available but they wont starve :)

ok thanx for the replies guys, just gotta wait now for them all to hatch and start growing :)
