Early Christmas presents

Well, long story short, I came home yesterday, and saw that my parents had gotten me an early Christmas present. I went downstairs, and in two of my empty tanks and the tank I had ready for my necturus to live in over Christmas, were ten siren intermedia. Turns out that all my talking about them, attempts to cancel Christmas for a family trip to Florida, and the episode with the $60 siren at the pet store resulted in this. Unfortunately, they got them from a rather infamous individual that will remain nameless, but he did send some extra and they all arrived safely. In any event, here are some (badly taken) pictures.

In any event, ten sirens is an awful lot, and seeing as we had our botched deal with the "West Virginian Sirens," I'm going to give 2-3 to Dot. Hopefully, we'll be able to learn more about the species through them.

I'm extremely excited about this and hopefully, both Pete and I will be able to compare notes on these animals.

Fantastic, you guys! I wonder if sirens can interbreed with E.siren chenggongensis? lol

Oh Pete, by the way ---

May god have mercy on your soul if you send me Eurycea ... ;)

That would be the best prank ever*, if I could get a few Eurycea and send the sirens a day later. =)

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
