I made a brief trip to a site my friend told me he saw 4 "newts". He has only recently been turned on to the hobby, but has always enjoyed my collection. I doubt they were newts, but he described them as 4" long brownish "newts". Now being that he flipped some underwater stones to find them leads me to believe that they are just most likely larval sals of some sort. In any event, I was all excited to solve the mistery and couldn't turn a single thing! I hate that! It was a fun day out with my son though, so I can't complain too much!

Just move to Nebraska! Then every day is a dud herping day for caudates!
You get to see lots of the exact same species of garter snake and cricket frog though...

Or even better, try Utah...the only state with less caudates than Nebraska!;)

Come to australia.

Chase geckos, and try not to get bitten my large inland snakes.

o0o my Girlfriend does have a family of blue tounges in her back yard.

Mate, we got nothing over here, dont complain :p

C'mon south. We've had so much rain lately that finding salamanders is easy. The Ambystomids and Plethodontids are out in great numbers on rainy nights

Unfortnately, many of these "spring lizards" are ending up as fishing bait.
