I want two axolotls (maybe three) and I'm really not interested in breeding them. Does this mean that I need to get ones that are old enough to be sexed so I can be sure no eggs are laid? Do females lay eggs without the presence of a male (obviously infertile eggs but still something to be dealt with)?

Can you ship ones that are old enough to be sexed? (I'm planning on getting them from Jay Sommers).

I've only ever had one at a time so I couldn't tell you what sex he was (I just called him a he) and I never had any issues with breeding obviously. Now I want two so they're not lonely but I want to avoid breeding.

Thanks in advance :D

Adults are more expensive, and more expensive to ship.

Axolotls don't get lonely. You don't need to get more to avoid any human emotions you're projecting onto your axolotl.
