I have been doing the tub water change today and I found netting them wasn't a good idea. I had no clue what to do, then it hit me, fill the other tub with fresher water, use cup to scoop up babies with minimum water.... We have only had 2 babies die so far but I think they hatched dead. The others are doing well and aren't eating yet though. They like to lie on they're side a fair bit. Finally got another air pump for my 2 at home. So happy!!

I move my babies around using a soup/desert spoon. I was always scared to use a net just in case I missed one and it was left in the net . As for the big ones I use a big tupperware container and put it under them and slowly lift it out of the tank.

I have tried several methods with success.

You will need a bucket of temporary fresh water for them to be in while you are water changing their tanks/containers.

Turkey basting is great for the little ones, you can suck them up with minimal dirty water, and if you suck up too much water you can put your finger over the end and release the water when the babies aren’t swimming near the opening. You just suck them up and put them in the temporary bucket.

net has worked fine for me, i pour each of the containers through the net, then release them into the bucket. Make sure you do not pour them from too much of a distance though. The only real problem i've had with netting is the net is so fine all the dead brine shrimp get stuck in it too, defeating the purpose. But i have found if the bucket is full enough, the dead brine shrimp is so diluted you can re scoop them into their containers with not enough dirty water to make a difference.

As lea said, a spoon is great. The BEST BEST BEST method i have discovered is one of those flat Chinese soup spoons. They are very wide with a flat bottom. I grabbed a cheap plastic set from a $2 store and drilled a small hole in the bottom of one. The spoon is so big and has a tall edge so it fits my bigger babies in nicely, and it is easy to scoop them because the water and dead brine shrimp fall out the hole in the bottom, leaving the baby to be easily transferred.

I attached a photo of the right type of spoon. Go get a delicious noodle soup from a chinese resteraunt and you'll probably get one for free :D
