Hi,
I just got 6 eggs... heres the plan on raising them.. please let me know if it is unsuitable etc.
3 In small 1L tubs, possibly 0.5L tubs until they grow a bit more. Feeding live BBS, and then an hour after feeding do a full WC by tipping everything into a plastic tea strainer and put the larvae in a fresh pot with dechlorinated water, then while they're in that scrub the other one, and swap them over everyday (once) or if they need more foodthen teice a day after each feeding...
I'll do this for a while until they get bigger and gradually work up the size of the pots until they can take daphnia then hopefullly won't need to do such regulkar water changes... let me kno what you think
Thanks

mine are due to hatch any day now :)
I wasn't planning on doing a full water change after feeding - just sucking out uneaten food (maybe a 50% WC twice a day). But I'd like to know what more experienced breeders have to say on the subect too :)

hi, i've recently had some eggs hatch and was having a few queries about water changes as well. i've been using an airline to syphon out approx 90% of the water and as much of the uneaten food as possible, then syphoning water from the parents tank back into the tub. i thought the current this caused seemed to stress out the larvae a lot and now i'm thinking it would be best to move the larvae from one tub to another like you talked about ax, but was wondering about the best method to move the larvae.
