Um, this aint the spot for that but I can tell you that its just that no one uses it. Thats all:D

We used to use it, back when it was 'newfangled'. Now, no one's ever in there :(

I know, it's a shame. I only find people on it once in awhile.

salamandra- I don't think you should use slang or text terms on the forum like "lol".

Maybe it's time for a new chat program and a nice introduction of it on the forum, I liked the chat too back when it was used.

There were about five of us chatting last night. Lots of discussion - I was there for about half an hour.

kk

go ont he chat nasw i have a privat chat and pm for the password if you like firesalamanders;) and will see you int he chat (the pond) or somthing like that

It seemed before the new chat was installed it was used a lot more. I've yet to find anyone in there.

The new chat software has a number of small problems. The biggest problem is that after you enter, if you don't type anything, your name shows up as "being there" for only a couple of minutes on the forum main page. So even if there is someone with a chat window open waiting for other people to enter, their name disappears and nobody can see that they are in there.

If you go into the chat, be sure to type a message every minute or two so that your name continues to appear on the forum main page and others know that someone is active there. It can be rather dull talking to oneself:p

I have been on there a few times, and no one is ever there. One idea would be to post some topics and then set a date and time for people to discuss that topic in the chat room. Just a thought.

I go in at night time (here in the UK) and you have a few people in there.

I was on it a few times, no one was on except this one time. This was the complete opposite of what Jennnewt explained. When some one was actually on we were trying to find out why over a ton of members had been on the list but no one was on at all.

That's another little problem with the chat software... it never logs anyone off when they are inactive. So anyone that doesn't click the "log off" button stays on the list forever. Until I kick them out;)

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
