Do newts really know when to stop eating?

My Eastern Newts eat greedily. Whatever I offer is not only eaten, but completely finished. Don't get me wrong, I only offer what I believe 2 newts can handle. I guess the question is in that my female will eat herself pudgy, while the male seems to reach a point of satisfaction, and will stop feeding(again, don't get me wrong, he eats on the next feeding...). He will be "full", but she will be "FULL"(if you know what I mean). Does anyone have similar experiences with male and female appetite differences? Should I do something different? I have the same experience with my Cynops orientalis. The female is an eating machine, she always wants to eat more, even when she is HUGE with eggs and you can´t imagine her body to be able to stretch anymore (her appetite sometimes amazes me, she will go berserk if she sees anything moving, no matter how much she has already eaten). The male however will stop eating once he is full, which still requires a good meal.
My dobrogicus seem to follow a similar rule, though the male sometimes vomits the excess food (dobros are greedy...really greedy).

Thank you! I hoped this was a normal pattern between male and female. It is probably due to her inherent need to "bulk up" for egg development and deposition. Maybe the female is just more opportunistic in that way? Makes sense to me... Thanks again!
