I have a big rock as a hiding spot on the left side of my tank for my axolotls. The thing is, neither of my axolotls use it. They only go behind it. They go in and out of the other two fake wood pieces I provided them. The rock bubbled a bit when I first put it in. It might be for reptiles. I don't know it that makes a difference. If anybody has any input I would appreciate it. ;)

I'm eventually going to improve my tank with better decor, live plants, and a quality sand substrate. I lost my job right after I got my axys, which I was not anticipating. But, the tank is a work in progress that I intend on improving once I'm back on my feet. It's a 35 gallon tank.

The rock on the left side of your tank is completely water safe! (Its designed for cichlids)
The only problem the axies might have with it is that the opening of those is so small- I find they like to have large and low to the ground (very wide) places to hide.
And the bubbles were probably just air escaping the Rick because its an enclosed space!
Hope this helps
