I have a dry area in the tank where I put my CFNs. I've noticed that the soil in that area gets disturbed every morning. There are no other inhabitants in that tank except 7 CFNs. Is it possible that the CFNs burrow or disturb the soil looking for critters?

Re: Do Chinese Fire-bellied Newts burrow?

I saw one of the CFNs today today covered in soil, with just the head protruding out of the soil. Is this a normal behavior?

Maybe it is too hot in the enclosure. Soil stays cool for the most part. Decrease your temperature
