I recently acquired some A. Opacum morphs, and they are as bold as anything I've kept before! They are approximately 2" now, and fat from worm bits and such. Is it normal for young Opacum to stay visible and feed during the day? Maybe I should clarify....They stay under their bark(which is a few small strips of curled bark) with their faces and sometimes bodies poking out.
I was expecting to seldom see them, but they don't shy away from light. With that being said, I started to offer food to them during the day, and at night when I get home from work. They always eat both meals greedily and seem to not prefer either over the other, as far as day/night. Will they start to shy away when the instinct to burrow sets in? Or when they are not in need of daily feedings like I've been doing?
I will have pics up soon of the tank and it's inhabitants! Thanks in advance to anybody who can shine a little insight on me!
