My friend has decided to give me a 90 gal, a 30 gal, a 20 gal, and a 15 gal aquarium. So I will finally have a nice large tank for displaying my axolotls, and a bunch of smaller tanks for breeding or rearing. I am so super duper excited!

I really want my display tank to be a beautiful home for my axolotls. So I'm wondering what all of you would suggest, or what you do. Types of plants, types of ground cover (if any), best filter, etc.. I'm especially curious about live plants, and how to maintain a tank with them.

I'm going to have a leucistic, gfp leucistic, wild type and golden albino in it! :D

I like the reptile caves you can get and the axis love them, I have soft plastic plants with java moss hanging off them

Oh my goodness! Do a walstad tank. Its basically a planted tank that has soil in the bottom, with clay or root tabs, and then on top of that fine sand, with lots of plants. I have two tanks this way and its wonderful. Natural looking, and helps with the cycle.
