Discoloration on newts

I was wondering if discoloration of skin was common among newts because all of a sudden my newt has like a dimly white strip down the middle of his tail could this be dangerous ?

A white stripe along the tail in alot of newt species usually means its a male and the male is entering or has already entered breeding condition. Unless you can see the skin starting to seperate or slough off from the tail, I think your newt is ok and is a breeding male. You've posted some questions on here before Galeoto, thought of becoming a member yet??
