I have managed to get my hands on another eastern tiger salamander but it’s a bit larger than my one. It was love at first site though and I just had to have it. Just wondering the size difference is about an inch maybe a little more, in peoples experiences would this be a massive problem if I housed them together (its currently in quarantine) in a 48x12 tank. If it will be a problem no worries and I know the general issues with housing tigers together and will have emergency set-ups standing by should there be any issues. Both will also be hand fed (as that is what they are used to)

well a picture tells all but in lieu of a picture your description will do.

And its purely a guess - but my own tiger has never had any issues with slightly smaller tigers. YEARS ago I asked my local petshop to get some axolotls in, I specified colors. I wound up with 4 "wild" type. yeah sure
:: sigh :: after they all morphed they grew out in a seperate tank and for a while they lived with my tiger - they were about 3/4 his size.

Since I didn't want more tigers at the time I sold them. but they spent a good 2 months with him at least. And recently I bought two more. One of the new ones and my old man sal spend a lot of time hanging out on the beach in their enclosure. You can see them in my albums.

Good luck.

well I can get pictures next to a tape measure but I don’t want to put them together as of yet as the male is still in quarantine. I'll get some pictures and an accurate measure of there sizes tonight

If they are terrestrial then they should be fine together.

cool, thanks for the help.

Ok the exact size difference is just over 1.1 inches (the larger clocking in at just over 8.1 and the smaller 7 on the dot) just incase people were wondering
