Question: Different kinds of moss?

Hi i was wanting to get a couple of moss balls for my axy's and i saw some in pets at home but as they all seemed to be in with their fish i wasnt keen on the idea...i looked on ebay and olots of people are selling moss balls...my question may be stupid?
BUT... what is the difference in the different kinds of moss? should i only use java moss? Can anyone tell me a good supplier in the uk? there are lots of different moss balls on ebay and some are quite cheap. however i dont want to buy something that isnt good for my babies

I have marimo moss balls in all my tanks. My axies appear to like rolling it around the tank and will shove each other out of the way to have their "turn" I did have a java moss ball but they shredded it eventually so I just ended up with a mess of moss all over the tank!!

Marimo is the type of moss ball. I actually bought mine from a local garden/acquatic centre because they have nice large ones. Have looked at them on ebay though, you seem to be able to get some bargains

PM me if you want the sellers details, the moss balls came snail free too. The only place I've managed to get an aquatic plant which doesn't have snail invaders.

I have ordered some from ebay... they were very cheap considering the price at pets at home for java moss balls!!

I am super excited... My axy's are loving their new bigger tank and i saw my babies in eggs twitch yesterday for the first time:happy:

Pets at home prices for all moss balls are ridiculous. I might have a nosey at E-bay and get some more
