wow there are some great pictures there! especially the eurycea!

He was pretty hard to shoot, being kept in a 'dark' setup. I had to crawl through the "kids only" cave to get that one. Justified it with being a kid at heart. That shanjing was shot at a weird angle too.

Yeah I agree with Will...that Eurycea sure is something! Looks almost silvery in the photo. What kind of setup did they have it in?

They have it in a dark blue-light-ish cave setup, gravel on the bottom, knobby limestone(?) wall on the back, with lots of little ledges and such. To my understanding, they've had this individual for quite some time. They used to have two, I'm not sure what happened to the other. They are like... pink, being cave sals, but have a silvery sheen to them. They're very pretty and my picture doesn't do it justice

Hey Joan,

Wow, that is the "smiley-est" Andrias that I've ever seen.

Thanks for sharing.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
