About a week ago i took my water to get tested for both axolotls tanks both came back fine apart from my nitrate was high which was expected in one tank as it was going through bacterial bloom which it looks like it’s gone now! Not sure why my other tanks nitrate was high and i was recommended to use a different water conditioner, fluval.
I do have a lot of detritus worms in my tank atm which i can not seem to get rid off!!!
I’m doing weekly changes about 30% and i changed my filter pads last week but nothing seems to be working! to get rid of the worms. There’s no left over poop or food, only snails and copepods which i’ve always had.

What type of dechlorinator do you use? I had a large detritus worm bloom a week or two ago which was caused by extra nutrients being added to the water via the "slime coat booster" part of the dechlorinator I was using (a friend gave me a massive jug of fish dechlorinator for Christmas that I don't normally use). I switched back to a reptile/amphibian specific dechlorinator and the worm population receded.

i used to use prime but my nitrate got high and my nearest aquatic shop recommended fluval. one tank doesn’t seem to have many now but the other has loads!

It could be the Fluval. You can try switching back to Prime and see if that helps.
