Photo: Desirable color?

I am not a breeder, but I did wonder if my axie was one that would be desirable. Colorwise I mean, She is very pale for a melanoid.

Looks like she may be a silver dalmation on that colouring. I noticed it in one of your other posts The spots she is developing along her sides support my theory however I'm no expert and time will tell how she ends up.

She was sold to me as a melanoid. I know almost nothing about axie genetics but silver dalmations are VERY rare.

From my basic understanding a silver dalmation is a colour morph of the melanoid colour variety. Buuuut like I said earlier, I'm no expert by any means

That is what I would call a gray melanoid. I have also heard them called blue or purple axolotls. I produce gray, coal black, and some oddball melanoids. I'm guessing that one is from one of my lines.

Why do you think she is from one of your lines? There are a LOT of breeders in the US ... I do wish the breeder had told me , I wanted a jet black melanoid.

Just a guess. It is a melanoid. Did you ask for a black melanoid or just a melanoid?

I asked for the darkest Melanoid they had. At the time I didnt know they came in anything other than shades of dark grey/ black

Coloration changes from juveniles to adults. I had a very purple melanoid juvenile who grew into a pale grey-purple with black spots.

Can someone post a purple melanoid? I only knew of melanoid ( Black) , Leucistic, Albino, Golden Albino ... I didnt think there were even major variations within the colors.

It's just the difference between a light wildtype and a dark one. Or a very pale person and a tan one...
