hello, i am raising axolotl larvae and feeding them on daphnia. the daphnia comes in all sizes in the bag, lots of big ones too big to eat but lots of tiny ones too, do u think the big daphnia get in the way of the larvae getting the little ones? all my white larvae have perished..

The larvae can selectively eat just the small daphnia. If you want to, you might be able to find a mesh material (such as a kitchen strainer or other kind of screen) that you can use to separate the small/large daphnia.

I use a small mesh fish net, the small daphnia can pass through and the larger ones don't, they go in my fish tank.

Leaving a number of Daphnia in the same tank as fry will provide them an ongoing supply of fresh food for rapid growth. Although the Adult daphnia are much to large for the small fry to consume, the live young that the daphnia produce are so small they are easily consumed by the fry.

I pond dip to get the water fleas to feed my hatchlings. I know there is a risk collecting wild caught daphnia - but I haven't had any problems yet (second batch raised this way).

The larger daphnia don't seem to bother them too much (no signs of stress). Hatchlings seem to be feeding well.
