a survey: egg development times in Cynops spp.

I'm still puzzled about egg incubation times. I had one (and only one!) hatchling from my Cynops pyrrh female (the one now named Dudley because all but two of her eggs were duds). The one successful egg was laid on March 5 and hatched on April 16 - that's 6 weeks. The average temp was about 60 F. The hatchling looked ready to come out for at least a week before he finally popped. He/she looks strong and healthy and has even a bit of yolk left.

In the lit everywhere it says about 3 weeks to hatching. Do the rest of you find such a large variation in hatching times? Does a few degrees colder really make weeks worth of difference in hatching?

How long are your incubation times for various Cynops spp? I'd like to make an informal survey - could you give info on species, temperature and incubation length, if you have them?

I don't keep close track, but C. pyrrhogaster certainly has one of the longest incubation times. I've noticed that they take more than 4 weeks. I'm not surprised that they would take 6 weeks at 60F.
