Hey all!
About a month ago my female cynops pyrrhogaster laid 6 eggs without I be expecting that. They all were fertile and now, a month later 5 from the 6 eggs have hatched and she didn't have laid a single eggs in one month! She continuous very fat even more that when she laid the first and now, she doesn't do nothing at all.... Any tricks I should use? She laid those eggs at 20ºC indoors... Like she was 2 weeks without laying a single one I transported her to 17ºC outdoor enclosure hoping she would lay...I provide same, and even other plants and nothing at all... 6 eggs is way to low... For a 13cm female with a big belly...:(
Any trick i could use to help her laying the rest (if she haves)?
Cheers,
Jorge

Bring her back to room temperature.
This species doesn´t even need a cooling period most times. The cooler temps might be inhibiting the process. She may lay them once the temps go up.

If you got her recently then the fact that she only lay 6 eggs wouldn´t surprise me. Sometimes the stress of the new environment, the travel, etc, make them "rethink" the whole thing...

...still better than my pregnant Cynops pyrrhogaster, Jorge. I haven't seen one single egg even though she was showing some egg laying behaviour months ago. I've bought lots of new plants but still nothing. If you work out that there is something to help with this let me know.

My female is also doing this, so far she's laid 5, but has been super prego for awhile now. also 3 of the eggs are half cream colored and half black, what does this mean? the temp in the tank has been around 62-64 for the past few weeks she's been prego. What temp. should i bring the tank up to? (sorry to threadjack)
