Take the photos at an angle or get the lens close to the glass so there isn't any flash glare. Also wipe condensation off of the glass before taking above water picture. Glass condensation only happens when the aquarium is warmer than its surroundings, newts shouldn't be heated unless the aquaria are in a cold place, i.e. garden shed in winter. The tiger water looks foul too, you should get a shelf that keeps water from flowing through the soil.

Ha ha, you guys have me all wrong. Thanks for the picture taking tips though. The toad and tiger are seperated, but they do have the same soil, so I can see how you may be confused. I actually rescued them, becuase they were together. The water looks foul, because I took the picture right after I had put sand in the tank. It eventually settled like 5 min later. I have no soil in the tank, so no use for a divider. The water is not hot causing water condensation, I had sprayed the tank before taking pictures. Any more comments would be awesome! Thanks!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
