Cynops orientalis 6-toed?

I have 3 newts, and as they're sitting in a tank next to my computer, I spend a lot of time just staring at them :) I noticed the other day that one of them has 6 toes on one of its hind-feet.

Is this normal, and the other 5 hind-feet are abnormal? Or is this a lucky sign, sort of like a cat that gets opposable thumbs? :)

Thanks in advance.

I've no idea how often that happens.. but it must be unique, like how some people are born with 6 fingers on a hand. Have any pics of it?

My digital isn't so good with the macro picture taking, and so I'm still messing around with getting a good picture. (I have a macro lens for my SLR, but then that would require processing and scanning and yadda yadda lol.)

One of these days I'll get it done, though! Unless one of you excellent photo-takers wants to come visit and take some for me HAHA!

Paul, that's exactly how mine is! So I guess I don't have to struggle with taking a picture :)

How'd you get yours to just lay there like that?

I made this pic in spring, last year. At that time I did not have a camera. So I set the newts in a box, put wet paper on it, and set the box on my scanner.

WOW... I thought it was laying on it's back... interesting way to "take a picture" :)
