I finally got my pinhead crickets last week for my C. orientalis morphs. They look smaller than the flightless fruit flies I've been feeding them. Is that OK? Should I venture to the next size up in crickets? I'm hoping to bulk up the little morphs in preparation for finding them new homes as I had a couple of interested people here who wanted them when it was safe to ship them. I've still never seen them eat, but the food disappears and I don't think it's due to escaping. I have about 60 morphs and had only one casualty thus far. They began morphing in mid-June and the last morphed 10 days ago.

Thanks,
Dana

I'm sure the pinheads will be fine as food, even if very small. At hatching, crickets are incredibly tiny. The ones I buy as "pinheads" are somewhat larger than fruit flies, it really depends on the supplier. Does your supplier state the actual size ranges for their crickets?

I would feed both flies and crickets as well as springtails or whatever else I could get in that size range, variety is always best.Good starts in life lead to healthier adults.Pinheads will grow to 1/4 inch in 10 days if kept warm and fed well.Don't forget to feed your feeders well,a little vitamin/calcium dusting once in a while sure could help also.Cheers!

Yes, they give a very detailed chart on the Ghann's site. I bought PH and another size for my White's Tree Frog and Leopard Gecko.

I will go to the next size up from PH.

Thanks,
