Some of my larvae are growing pretty large now. longer than a quarter. However, I am wondering if I need to change to another type of food. I currently feeding them brine shrimp. Although they still enjoying the food, but must provide larger food now? Or I can still stick to brine shrimp until they morph?

When setting up a habitat for morphs, do I need soil? or rocks with moss will do? What is the best type of food for morphs?

Thanks

Live blackworms are the best thing I know of, for both larvae and morphs. A lot of pet shops in the US and Canada sell them, but it may take some hunting to find the pet shop in your area that has them.

The setup for C.o. morphs can be either semi-aquatic with rocks and plants, or soil. It comes down to which one is easier for you. I've tried both. This year, I'm using soil setups with water dishes for the blackworms for all my Cynops morphs. If you look through the posts on the Cynops part of the "Genus and Species Forums" you'll find photos of setups for morphs.
